Age UK East London will be delivering the Speak Up, Sign Up Project. A multi-channel initiative designed to reach older East Londoners who are unaware of the changes made by the Elections Act (2022), especially the need for a photo Voter ID, and empowering them to act on the changes, actively participate in democratic processes and influence decisions affecting their lives and communities.

This will be delivered through a framework of in-person meetings, digital inclusion, community activities, strategic partnerships and building trusted relationships with older Londoners, to break down barriers to engagement in civic and democratic participation. Age UK East London will also share information with other London-based Age UK partners. 

Disability Action Haringey will be delivering the Empowering Voices: Civic Engagement for All Project designed to enhance political literacy, equip Deaf and disabled Londoners of all ages with the knowledge and tools necessary to understand and navigate civic and democratic participation.

This will be delivered through educational workshops, 1:1 support, community events, online campaigns, and collective outreach in collaboration with partner organisations. 

Empowering Deaf Society will be delivering the Your Vote, Your Voice Project designed to support Deaf Londoners to access their democratic rights by addressing barriers to participation through an awareness campaign across their membership.

This will be delivered through creating short British Sign Language (BSL) videos and leaflets in simple English to distribute to key community spaces; drop-in surgeries for direct support with registering to vote and free Voter Authority Certificate applications; political literacy workshops that support engagement in civic and democratic life, including engagement with local representatives. 

Faiths Forum for London will be delivering the Faith in Democracy Project designed to support Londoners to overcome disengagement from the democratic process, experienced by specific underserved communities that can feel local decision-making is beyond their capacity to understand or influence.

This will be delivered by engaging with students at Freshers Fairs, focused dialogue sessions led by youth delegates in conversation with ethnic minority faith groups held at places of worship, civic awareness information sessions and walk-in surgeries held at places of worship. 

Kosovar Albanian Youth Against Violence will be delivering the Change Makers Project designed to inform, empower, and support the Albanian- speaking Communities in London to be ready to participate in civic and democratic processes.

This will be delivered through regular drop-in sessions and 1:1 support, workshops tailored to young Londoners, older Londoners and women, and civic and democratic engagement workshops including support to engage with local representatives. 

LGBT HERO will be delivering the Empowering LGBTQ+ Voices: Civic Engagement and Voter Participation Project designed to develop a comprehensive civic engagement and voter registration programme specifically targeting LGBTQ+ people, with a particular focus on transgender and non-binary Londoners.

This will be delivered through expanding the LGBT HERO Voter ID hub, educational resources, social media campaigns, and direct outreach in collaboration with partner organisations and key stakeholders to empower LGBTQ+ people to engage more actively in civil society and democratic processes. 

Partnership for Young London will be delivering the Care Leaders - Voice and Democracy Project designed to tackle the equality implications for care experienced young people who may not be registered to vote or have photo Voter ID in place due to their changing circumstances and access to support.

This will be delivered by developing collaboration across London with the borough-based Children in Care Councils (CiCC) and participation leads, co-producing a range of resources and creating a network of community champions with care experienced young people, to increase political literacy, and thus engagement and representation in civic and democratic life in future. 

Romanian Culture and Charity Together will be delivering the Voting and Representation for Romanian and Romanian Roma Community Project designed to inform Romanian and Romanian Roma Londoners of their civic and democratic rights and to support them to register to vote, apply for accepted photo Voter ID and improve their political literacy.

This will be delivered through collective outreach in collaboration with partner organisations including in person information sessions, social media meet ups and tailored community information videos.  

Southeast and East Asian Women’s Association will be delivering the Vote for Rights for Women from East and Southeast (ESEA) Asia Project designed to use their lived experience as ESEA migrant women to address the unique needs of other ESEA women and the barriers that they experience with civic and democratic participation.

This will be delivered through information sessions including collective outreach in collaboration with partner organisations and tailored social media posts to pan-London ESEA communities to understand and access their democratic rights, get heard on decisions impacting them and their communities and to increase their political literacy.  

The Politics Project will be delivering the On the Table Project designed to support young people with low levels of social trust and political literacy to have informal discussions with youth practitioners in non-formal youth spaces.

This will be delivered by developing, testing and codifying a toolkit including practical sessions and training for youth practitioners across London that will be created in collaboration with partner organisations and a youth steering group following a co-design and pilot process. During London Voter Registration Week 2024, they’ll ensure the GLA Political Literacy resources are shared in their networks.  

Voice4Change England (V4CE) will be delivering the Your Voice Your Democracy Project designed to work with Black and Minoritised Ethnic (BME) communities to address barriers to engagement through better access to reliable information on civic and democratic participation.

This will be delivered through stakeholder engagement and co-design online round-table discussion, deliberative participation in-person events, political literacy workshops, newsprint media, online resources and a social media campaign. V4CE will share and promote amongst their members how V4CE have embedded democracy / social justice in their workstreams and how other BME -led organisations can embed their approach for the benefit of their beneficiaries.
