Terms and conditions

The Greater London Authority (GLA) Democracy Hub ("the Hub") is maintained by the GLA Civic and Democratic Participation Team for your personal use and viewing.

These Terms and Conditions apply to the entire contents of the Hub under the domain name https://registertovote.london/ and to any correspondence between us and you relating to the Hub.

Please read these terms carefully before accessing the Hub. Your use of this Hub indicates that you accept these terms, and this takes effect from the date of your first access to the Hub.

If you do not accept these terms, do not use this Hub.

1. The Hub

1.1. The Hub and all information and materials contained within the Hub have been prepared for access and use only by persons in the United Kingdom. We do not represent or warrant that the information or materials contained on the Hub comply with the regulatory regime of any other country.

1.2. If you are accessing the Hub from outside the United Kingdom, you do so at your own risk, and you are solely responsible for compliance with local laws.

1.3. The GLA reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions, the Privacy Policy or any other policies at any time. Any changes will be effective from the time that they are posted on the Hub. Your continued use of the Hub will signify your acceptance of the changes.

2. Your use of the Hub

2.1. You are permitted to view, print and download extracts from this Hub for your own personal, non–commercial use on the following basis:

2.1.1. That you do not modify any extracts in any way.

2.2. The permission under clause 2.1 does not extend to any material contained on the Hub which is marked as being the copyright material of a third party. You must obtain permission directly from that third party before use of such material.

2.3. You may not copy, sell, lease, rent, license, sub-license, grant any rights in, transfer, distribute, time-share or otherwise assign any part of this Hub to any third party.

2.4. Where you intend to use content or material on the Hub for purposes other than those permitted in clause 2.1, prior written consent must be obtained from the GLA Civic and Democratic Participation Team.

3. Intellectual Property Rights

3.1. The copyright and all other intellectual property rights in all materials on the Hub (including without limitation, photographs and graphical images) are owned by the GLA Civic and Democratic Participation Team or its licensors, unless otherwise stated.

3.2. The names, images and logos of the GLA Democracy Hub are proprietary marks of the GLA and copying of these is not permitted without prior approval from the GLA Civic and Democratic Participation Team.

4. Your access to the Website

4.1. The GLA endeavours to ensure that the Hub is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, the GLA shall not be liable if for any reason the Hub is unavailable at any time for any period.

4.2. The GLA may suspend access to the Hub in the event of system failure, maintenance, repair or for any other reason which in the opinion of the GLA justifies the suspension of access.

5. Visitor conduct and material

5.1. If you transmit or post any information to this Website, it will be considered to be non-confidential and non-proprietary (with the exception of Personal Data which is covered by the Privacy Policy). In transmitting or posting information to the Hub, you consent to the GLA copying, disclosing, incorporating or otherwise dealing with such material and all data, images, sounds, text and other things embodied therein for any and all commercial and non–commercial purposes.

5.2. You must not use the Hub in order to hack or gain other illegal or unauthorised access to other computers.

5.3. The GLA will co-operate fully with any law enforcement authority or court order requesting or directing the GLA to disclose the identity of anyone posting any material in breach of this paragraph 5.

5.4. In the event that your use of the Hub results in the need for servicing, repair or correction of equipment, software or data, you shall be liable for all costs incurred by the GLA.

6. Third party access to the Website

6.1 The GLA shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused to any user due to any alteration or amendment made to the Hub by an unauthorised third party.

7. Links to and from other websites

7.1. The Hub contains links to other websites, which are provided for your convenience. The GLA has not reviewed these websites and does not control or take responsibility for the content and availability of any third-party websites. The GLA therefore, does not endorse or make any representation regarding the material on these third-party websites. If you access any of the third-party websites, you will be leaving this Hub and you access the third-party website entirely at your own risk.

7.2. You do not have to ask permission to link directly to pages hosted on the Hub and we do not object to you linking directly to information that is contained within the Hub, provided that you do not do so in a way which could give any impression of compromising the political neutrality of the GLA Democracy Hub, or which is offensive or otherwise objectionable.

8. Disclaimer

8.1. The GLA generally endeavours to ensure that the information on the Hub is correct and up to date. The GLA does not however warrant the accuracy and completeness of the material on the Hub and may make changes to the material on the Hub at any time without notice. The material on the Hub, including material relating to the state of the law, may be out of date. While every effort is made to ensure that the information is current, the GLA makes no commitment to update such material.

8.2. The material on this Hub is provided "as is" without any conditions, warranties or other terms of any kind. Accordingly, to the maximum extent permitted by law, the GLA provides you with this Hub on the basis that the GLA excludes all representations, warranties, conditions and other terms (including, without limitation, the conditions implied by law of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non–infringement, compatibility, security and accuracy.)

9. Liability

9.1. Subject to 9.2 below, the GLA excludes all liability and responsibility for any amount or kind of loss or damage that may result to you or a third party (including but not limited to, any direct, indirect, punitive or consequential loss or damages, or any loss of income, profits, goodwill, data, contracts, use of money, or loss or damages arising from or connected in any way to business interruption, and whether in tort, contract or otherwise) in connection with the Hub in any way or in connection with the use, inability to use or the results of (including reliance on the contents thereof) use of the Hub, any websites linked to the Hub or the materials on such websites.

9.2. The GLA does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the GLA Democracy Hub.

10. Privacy Notice

10.1. All personal data submitted to the Hub by visitors will be processed in accordance with the principles of the Data Protection law and the Hub Privacy Notice. Links provided to other websites are not covered by our Privacy Notice and it is your responsibility to check the privacy statements when visiting third party websites.

10.2. The proprietor of the Hub is the GLA.

11. Feedback

11.1. The GLA welcomes feedback and suggestions on what you would like us to include on the Hub - you can provide feedback at democracy@london.gov.uk.

12. General

12.1. Reference to any statute or statutory provision includes a reference to the statute or statutory provision as from time to time amended, extended or re-enacted.

12.2. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with English Law. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
